My Colombian Adventure by Chaz Ellis

I commissioned myself to travel to Colombia and chronicle my experiences through the lens of my camera. My goal was to examine an intimate side of the country, capturing the rare moments that only present itself in passing. I wanted to focus on witnessing the everyday lives of the people who call Colombia their home. It was important for me to get in the mindset of recognizing and seizing the occasion when I aimed my camera – capturing the people and the country in a natural light (while only using natural light). The photographs I’m presenting here are the candid images taken on my five day adventure across Colombia’sCaribbean coast. Despite my short stay, the country left me with a lasting impression that had me curious for more.

Peak Hour by Chaz Ellis

I studied in Tokyo, Japan for a few months while I was in college. The classes were pretty intense and free time was somewhat a luxury. However, every so often I managed to explore the city with my camera.

This photograph is just one of many I took during my aimless adventures in Tokyo. One that also speaks to the everyday routine. In Japan commuting is efficient. Train and buses arrive on the dot, taxi drivers pickup and go from their queue and during rush hour nothing stands still.
